BOBL 2.0 POST JAM UPDATE


🫧Hello everyone!🫧

Since the end of global game jam, I continued to work a little a bit on the project on my free time to add the things I didn't had the time during the jam.

The main new things are: UI (there wasn't any), a couple of new upgrades, reworked progression curve to make the progression smoother and quicker, and a lot of small tweaks and polish here and there. Oh and I changed the name of the game to SUPER BOBL CLICKER 2!

It will probably be the one and only update on this project (unless major bug), so I hope you'll enjoy it! My only regret is that I cannot do a web browser export from UE5, but I'm happy to call this done and good enough for a post-jam version!

🛠️Here is the full changelist:

💻UI Changes!

  • Added shop upgrades icons with 3 states, default, hovered, and fully upgraded.
  • Tweaked the layout of the shop UI
  • Added a background and a close button to the shop UI
  • Polished the shop button
  • Polished the main menu buttons
  • Added a proper title on the main menu
  • Polished the pause menu buttons
  • Added a music volume slider in the pause menu
  • Added a custom cursor (from Kenney Asset Pack)

📈Balancing and new upgrades!

  • New upgrade : rainbow bubbles, which burst nearby bubbles when they are popped, appear occasionally.
  • New upgrade : occasionally shoots small shells that burst bubbles (with an option to disable whoosh sound in Pause Menu)
  • New upgrade : bottles occasionnaly fall from above, popping bubbles
  • Balancing pass on upgrade prices: reduced the price of nearly every upgrades, smooth the progression curve to reduce big gap between upgrades, added nex upgrade levels for the spawnrate, cursor size and gold bubble upgrade

✨VFX!

  • Added a vfx on click, that get bigger when the "bigger cursor" is bought.
  • Added a bubble ambient vfx in the main level
  • Polished the fish ambient vfx: now looping, fixed the seams issue, random color
  • Update golden bubble : update pop vfx and add and ambient vfx, 

🔊Sounds!

  • Fixed the bubble pop sound delay on click
  • Added a sound when a button is hovered and when an upgrade is bought
  • Fixed audio stacking issue and music resetting
  • Gold bubble : added a sound when popped
  • Lower the sound of the music

⚙️Other:

  • Changed the name of the game to SUPER BOBL CLICKER 2!
  • Added a win text when upgrade is purchased
  • Opening the shop now pause the game (so you can't use the E key in the shop anymore, but still can in the game)
